WOW – we are busy and the weather is hot!
Having run an end of term campaign to capture donations of stock from school, there has been an absolute mountain of brilliant donations of uniform and non-uniform stock come in.
Nine pioneering Glasgow schools have been involved in this end of term drive.
Eight Primary Schools (Netherlee, Pirie Park, Langside, Riverside, Blairdardie, Holycross, Garnetbank and Castleton) and our first secondary school, (Bannerman High School). We supplied marketing materials, collection bins and the school community did the rest. Great work.
Even more great news is that, ApparelXchange is no longer a one-woman operation. The team is growing with help from the National Lottery and their Awards for All grant.
Donna Jamieson has joined as our Volunteer Support Officer and working really quickly to get our Volunteer Programme off the ground. There are lots of great opportunities to get involved and learn new skills from processing the clothing, developing IT skills, working with schools and developing clothing repair skills.
