Langside's Carbon Crusaders

Langside's Carbon Crusaders

Here’s an update from Langside Primary. We have been working together for a couple of months and the young people at the school have achieved some impressive carbon reduction. During March, they were part of the Pass It on Week, where the school had a donation drive for unwanted school uniforms.

They collected 134 pieces of school uniform of which all of it was re-used or recycled. This has saved 0.282 CO2eqt of green house gases from being released in the atmosphere. This is the equivalent to making 5321 cups of tea or driving from London to Aberdeen twice. Plenty of cups of tea for the staff room there.

An incredible achievement for the school. All the pupils and parents have kept bringing uniform into the school and the collection bins are nearly full of uniform again.

Another sale is planned at the school on Wednesday 20th June 2018 between 1500 and 1700. This will be for the families at Langside Primary, however, ApparelXchange is also having pop up sales at the Shawlands Arcade. Visit the website www.apparelxchange.co.uk and go to the events page to find out what other sales we are having throughout the summer.
