Collection: Chip In For Change Scheme
We recognise that, due to complex financial and social barriers, many families struggle to provide well-fitting, practical, comfortable clothing for their young people. Our social enterprise is dedicated to reducing these barriers, while also reducing our collective impact on the environment.
ABOUT OUR SOCIAL MISSION
We want to support children through quality clothing and footwear, helping them to fully participate in school and home life with confidence. We believe every child has the right to clothing that is practical and comfortable. We also know that for so many young people, fashion allows self-expression and creativity to flourish.
ABOUT OUR CLOTHING PACKAGES PROVISION
ApparelXchange work in partnership with a wide number of public, private and third sector organisations, welcoming discreet, personalised referrals for clothing packages each week.
As an unsubsidised social enterprise, we are required to cover our basic running costs, and so we want to create a future for this service in a sustainable way.
SO WHAT DOES MY CONTRIBUTION PAY FOR?
We've created a straightforward pricing structure for our clothing packages, based on the most minimal overheads for processing each garment. When we give a package to a family, these costs are either covered by the referral organisation where funds allow (e.g. social work/community organisation/local food bank) or by us, when no funding is available (which is now so often the case.)
All 'Chip In For Change' funds will directly contribute to the costs of providing this service, allowing us to provide many more tailored clothing packages to young people in hardship across our home city of Glasgow, and beyond.
